  • The new Blo Blow Dry Bar of Canfield is hosting a grand opening from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. at 4559 Boardman Canfield Road.

  • Traci Manning, Mahoning Valley Historical Society educator, discusses the founding of the Youngstown police detective department and stories about fighting crime years ago. It’s happening at 10 a.m. for $15 at at Denny’s Restaurant at 4020 Belmont Ave. in Liberty Township.

  • ManUp ‘24 is free seminar and lunch for fathers from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Covelli Center in the community room. The featured presenter is author and coach Willie Richardson from Tennessee and special guest comedian is Marcus Martin from Canton. Seating is limited so register online before the event, which is put on by Warriors Inc. Youngstown.

  • Visit Birdfish Brewing Company in Columbiana at 4 - 9:30 p.m. for a local screening of “Beer Club,” written and directed by Youngstown native Nate Shively. The movie screening starts at 6:30 p.m.; there will be a cast and crew Q&A after the screening. Stick around to watch “Strange Brew” at 7:30 p.m. Get a ticket for $10 with 100% of proceeds going to the Columbiana Cultural Collective online or at the door.

  • It’s Modern Methods’ first Tips for a Cause night starting at 5 p.m. behind the bar at the Darlene Lounge. A portion of all sales and 100% of tips will be going to Trumbull County Historical Society.

  • Uplift Palestinian voices: Attend an online reading to uplift Palestinian voices hosted by Lit Youngstown Action Books, World Poetry Books, and Elizabeth’s Bookshop and Writing Center at 1 p.m. The reading will feature poets Ghayath Almadhoun, Olivia Elias, Philip Metres and Deema Shehabi, and translators Catherine Cobham, Sarah Riggs, Jérémy Robert and Marie Silkeberg.
