FBI sets tipline for Youngstown City School District
A media alert from the FBI’s Cleveland Office says they are seeking information about any individuals, vendors, or contractors who may have received payments from Youngstown City Schools for services not performed or goods not provided or used, or vendors who received funds from the District while paying kickbacks (or “finder’s fees) to District employees or associates of District employees, from 2019 to the present.

The FBI reportedly raided QUICKmed offices in Youngstown and CEO Lena Esmail’s home and questioned multiple Youngstown City School administrators on Wednesday.
“We continue to serve the community with pride, and all of our urgent care centers and school-based clinics will continue to operate as usual,” Lena Esmail, chief executive officer at QUICKmed, said in a press release. “Federal Bureau of Investigation agents asked for access to documents related to COVID-19, and we’ve satisfied all requests instantaneously. We will continue to work transparently with government authorities. “We are proud of the services we provide as the community healthcare partner, and we look forward to providing quality care to the communities we serve for years to come.”
An audit was also released by the state this week, showing that Youngstown City School District spent more than its peers with the number of students who attend there declining by 19% over the past ten years. In addition, the audit shows the district is projected to be in deficit by $17 million by 2027.
