Police officers find guns, ammunition while investigating Youngstown bar
The Youngstown Police Department issued citations and seized two firearms from a bar on the south side of Youngstown after a state liquor investigation.
An agent with the Ohio Investigative Unit conducted a liquor investigation early Sunday morning at King’s Court on the south side of Youngstown.
She called YPD to report the sale, but once officers got inside the south side bar, they ended up collecting a lot of evidence, including two handguns and ammunition.
Reports say she went into King’s Court on South Avenue in Youngstown and purchased an alcoholic beverage around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday.
What does the bar’s liquor license say?
According to the YPD reports, the bar’s liquor license says it’s not permitted to sell alcohol any day after 1 a.m. and can’t sell alcohol at all on Sundays.
The owner of the bar, David Manigault was issued several citations from the incident with OUI, including after-hours sale of alcohol.
YPD also issued citations for improper conduct during the inspection and insanitary conditions in the kitchen.
Police reports show investigators confiscated:
- 1 ten-millimeter Glock Gen. 40 handgun
- 15 rounds of ammunition from the 10mm handgun
1 FN Herstal semi-automatic pistol
21 live rounds from the semi-automatic pistol
- Over 200 bottles of different brands of beer
All of the items were given to OUI for further investigation.
