Boardman woman was arrested for theft at Walmart
A woman was arrested at the Boardman Walmart at 3 p.m. Saturday for skip-scanning items at the self-checkout, according to the police report.
As stated in the report, a Boardman patrolman was already at the store speaking to the loss prevention officer about three other recent thefts.
The suspect, according to the report, was caught not scanning 19 items in her cart totaling over $100.
The officer stopped her after she passed all points of sale and asked her to enter the loss prevention office where the suspect was identified as Taushia Washington, reports indicated. It was confirmed that Washington did not pay for the items and was placed in handcuffs.
The report states that the officer then asked the manager if they wanted to prosecute for theft and she said she did. Washington was read her Miranda Rights and transported to Boardman Police Department where she was booked and released on summons to appear in Boardman court for theft.
