YSU student serving as Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office law intern

Youngstown State University student Brooke Schantz is the community outreach intern for the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office.

According to a news release, Brooke studies Criminal Justice Legal processes in her second year at YSU where she is working toward a bachelor’s degree.

After getting that degree, Brooke says she hopes to attend Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State to pursue a law degree.

With the prosecutor’s office, Brooke works alongside Isabella Caruso the prosecutor’s Director of programming and Alan Rodges, the Prosecutor Gina DeGenova’s director of communications, helping them plan and brainstorm current and future programs in the office.

Brooke also spends time as an intern at the Mahoning County Courthouse learning about being an attorney as she observes trials in Common Pleas courtrooms.
