Primary election: Early voting numbers in Ohio released

It’s just a week away from primary election day in Ohio.

Voters have started submitting their early voting and absentee ballots, according to Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

There are three options to vote: early, absentee or in person on Election Day.

All registered voters can cast an early in-person ballot at their county board of elections until Sunday.

Voters can go online and find the full early in-person voting schedule at their polling location.

Early voting in Ohio

There are 8,031,146 Ohioans registered to vote, according to data released by the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office.

They said that’s about 90 percent of all eligible voters.

Throughout the state’s 88 county boards of elections, 243,647 absentee ballots were requested for the primary.

Over 172,000 were requested by mail, while 71,644 requested them in person.

There have been 131,613 absentee ballots submitted so far, either in person or by mail, as of March 7.

There were still 112,034 absentee ballots that haven’t been cast yet.

The polls open at 6:30 a.m. March 19 and close at 7:30 p.m. in Ohio.
