Youngstown Foundation gives $196,600 for programs across Youngstown City Schools
The Youngstown Foundation gave Youngstown City School District $196,600, according to superintendent Jeremy Batchelor.
“Youngstown City Schools and the Board of Education are beyond grateful for the Youngstown Foundation’s generosity and support,” said Batchelor. “The grant will assist with different educational opportunities and areas in the district that ultimately benefit and support our scholars.”
According to YCSD, the funds will be spread across several schools for different programs, including:
- East High School gets
$40,000 for
Bear Bucks Day, Building Cultures and Destination Imagination - Chaney High School gets $15,500 for PBIS and attendance incentives
- Rayen Early College Middle School will receive $20,500 for field trips and incentives
- Rayen Early College High School gets $39,000 for their Summer Bridge Program and trip to New York City
Some of the funds will be used for students and facilities across the district, including:
- $50,000 is going toward Administrative Support and Family Communications
- $15,000 is going toward Classroom to Capitol
- $15,000 is going toward Sojourn to the Past
- $1,600 will be used for the English Festival
“The Youngstown Foundation remains a loyal and committed partner of the school district,” said Youngstown Foundation president Lynnette Forde. “We are proud to support programs designed to enhance the positive experiences for Youngstown’s scholars both inside and outside of the classroom.”
