Dylan’s House is all about empowering and enriching the lives of individuals with autism in the Mahoning Valley, according to founder and vice president Amy Shope.

Dylan’s House help caregivers find homes, resources for support and expand education surrounding autism.

“Education and knowledge are essential for everyone, not only for individuals with autism or their families, but for all,” said Shope.

Dylan’s House is hosting a free event that’s open to the public all about transitioning into adulthood when you’re on the autism spectrum.

“Autism: Transitioning into Adulthood” is happening at 6 p.m. April 10 at the Marriot Courtyard in Canfield.

During the event, speakers will share their insights and experiences on the challenges and opportunities of transitioning into adulthood for individuals with autism.

Speakers lined up for the event include:

  • Bill Whitacre, Superintendent of Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities
  • Jimmy Sutman, Owner/Founder of ISLE/Purple Cat
  • Amy and Kevin Shope, Directors/Founders of Dylan’s House.

Representatives from the Rich Center for Autism, Potential Development, Progressive ABA, Autism Society of Mahoning Valley, Kids Choice Therapy and more organizations will be setting up tables during the event to provide resources and support.
