Mercy Health, Lifepoint Health ground-breaking at second hospital

Last summer, Mercy Health and Lifepoint Rehabilitation partnered for the first time to break ground on a rehabilitation hospital on Belmont Avenue in Liberty Township.

On Tuesday, they met again to break ground on a new behavioral health hospital that will be right next to the rehabilitation hospital at 3180 Belmont Ave. in Liberty Township.

John Luellen, president of Mercy Health in Youngstown, and Russ Bailey, president, Lifepoint Behavioral Health broke ground on the new behavioral health hospital in Youngstown yesterday.

The Mercy Health Behavioral Hospital will be a 61,900-square-foot facility which will have 72 beds.

According to Mercy Health, they’ll provide both inpatient and outpatient treatment for patients with mental health concerns and illnesses, like depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, psychosis, personality disorders, and mental health concerns accompanied by substance abuse.
