Mahoning Valley law enforcement agencies receive $273,677 for drug task forces
Local law enforcement agencies are receiving state funding to support drug task forces and stop the illegal drug trade in Ohio.
“Local drug task force commanders know their area’s drug trade inside and out,” said Gov. Mike DeWine. “Providing this funding ensures more drugs will be taken off the street and more drug traffickers will be put behind bars.”
Three million dollars have been distributed across the state in 36 counties.
The funds come from the 2024 Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund.
It will be used for intelligence and investigations into drug trafficking and other organized criminal activity related to the illegal drug trade, according to the governor’s office.
Grants can also be used to support local work to help drug overdose victims and their families through education, support, and treatment options.
How much money does each county get?
From the total $3 million in funding, $78,741 went to the Columbiana County Commissioners.
Mahoning County is receiving $104,269, while Trumbull County is receiving $90,667.
