Youngstown man shot outside his home following Facebook argument

A Youngstown man was shot outside his home by an acquaintance following a disagreement on Facebook, police said.

According to a police report, Youngstown officers responded to a call on East Dewey Avenue after reports of gunshots. The victim had a minor injury.

According to the report, police observed 10 rounds of 0.4 caliber casings outside the victim’s home. The victim reported that his assailant drove to his house in a white Volkswagon Jetta after having a feud on Facebook. After a heated exchange, reports indicated the assailant suddenly pulled out a gun and started shooting at him.

The victim ran toward his house and managed to avoid most of the bullets, except for one which grazed his hip, police said, adding he refused medical treatment on scene.

The assailant drove away toward the Hudson and Indianola avenues area, according to the report. Police were unable to find him.
