Police investigating homicide on East Lucius Avenue in Youngstown
According to the Youngstown Police Department, a 33-year-old man is dead and officials are in the early stages of investigating what happened to him.
Police officers received a call to help a gunshot victim around 4:45 a.m. today in Youngstown.
Emergency responders and police found the gray Honda Civic parked in the 700 block of East Lucius Avenue being driven by an unidentified woman “trying to get him to the hospital.”
The 33-year-old man was found inside the car with “gunshot wounds to the left side of his body” and “covered in blood,” according to police reports.
EMTs took him to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff, according to Youngstown police reports.
According to detectives, the investigation into the homicide is in the “very early stages of gathering information and therefore we don’t have any additional information that can or will be released.”
