Mahoning Valley manufacturers invited for ‘hiring day’ for individuals with disabilities

Mahoning Valley manufacturers are invited to join the staff office of Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) in a “hiring day” on July 17.

The event, will be held at the Youngstown OOD office at 242 W. Federal St., Suite 403 in downtown Youngstown. This day is set aside so individuals with disabilities can find work in the manufacturing field.

The OOD office serves people with any type of disability, including those who want to work and have inquired with the agency for help to find employment. Candidates are pre-screened before the July 17 event based on information from the manufacturers on what positions are open.

Interviews are then scheduled between the employer and top candidates, with resumes reviewed by the manufacturer representatives in advance of the event.
