A man, who was convicted for first-degree murder, aggravated arson and gross abuse of a corpse, lost his appeal at the Ohio Eleventh District Court of Appeals.

Antuan Parker, 45, was found guilty of all these charges – as well as tampering with evidence and having weapons while under a disability – by a Trumbull County jury on Jan. 13, 2023. He was sentenced to 42 to 47 and a half years to life at the Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

He appealed his decision, stating that there were errors conducted by the court during his trial. Among these errors, he stated that there was insufficient evidence for conviction, his attorney did not file proper motions and that the prosecution allowed testimony with prejudice against him.

The Eleventh District Court of Appeals found Parker’s claims to be without merit and denied him appeal.

Parker will continue to serve his prison term at Lake Erie Correctional Institute.
