Mahoning Valley to experience heat wave through the week with temperatures in high 90s
The Cleveland branch of the National Weather Service says temperatures in the area are expected to be in the upper 90s from Monday-Friday and heat index figures above 100.
According to the weather.com, here is what heat index ranges mean:
- 90°F–103°F: Possible heat cramps, heat exhaustion, or heat stroke with prolonged exposure or physical activity
- 103°F–124°F: Heat cramps or heat exhaustion are likely, and heat stroke is possible with prolonged exposure or physical activity
- 125°F or higher: Heat stroke is highly likely
