A man reportedly ran through a red light at a four-way intersection, hitting an 83-year-old woman in her car.

The Ohio Department of Public Safety released a report showing a crash that occurred Friday at an intersection on West Delason Avenue and Oak Hill Avenue in Youngstown.

The man, 51-year-old Willis Lawson Jr., failed to stop for a red light as he was traveling north on Oak Hill Avenue in his black Kia Soul. This caused him to strike a woman who was traveling West on West Delason Avenue in her black Buick Lucerne at a green light, according to the crash report.

The report stated that the woman sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Health — St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital after EMTs arrived and treated her on the scene.

Lawson was also seen by EMTs and was not transported to the hospital. He was issued a citation by Youngstown police for disobeying the traffic signal.
