Wick Park to host ‘Jazz in the Park’ with free concerts every summer weekend in Youngstown

Jazz in the Park is almost here in Youngstown as the community gets ready to enjoy summer weekends of smooth jazz at Wick Park.

The event will be celebrating its 30th anniversary and invited many local jazz musicians to perform in free outdoor concerts every Sunday from July 7 until Sept. 1. It will be held at 260 Park Ave. and will last from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Jazz in the Park is made possible through a collaboration with the Jazz in the Park Youngstown board, the City Parks Department, the Youngstown City Council and various sponsors.

The first concert is scheduled for Sunday and will feature Hubb’s Groove, a renowned jazz band led by Northeast Ohioan drummer Robert Hubbard Jr. The band has played a variety of genres such as jazz, soul, gospel, classical and R&B music.

Jazz in the Park have released its full schedule on Facebook, that highlights the lineup of talented jazz musicians that will be performing throughout the summer.
