Youngstown marked its boxing history by announcing Thursday that the city’s five champion boxers will be inducted to the Youngstown Walk of Fame.

They include Harry Arroyo, Greg Richardson, Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Mancini, Kelly Pavlik, and Jeff Lampkin.

“We are thrilled to honor these incredible athletes who have not only achieved greatness in their sport but have also represented Youngstown with pride and excellence,” Youngstown Mayor Jamael “Tito” Brown said.. “Their dedication, hard work, and achievements are an inspiration to our community, and it is fitting that we celebrate their legacy with a permanent place on the Walk of Fame.”

The unveiling ceremony of the Inaugural Youngstown Walk of Fame was held at the Wean Park Walking Path, closest to the Market Street Bridge.

Launched in 2023, the Walk of Fame project celebrates Youngstown’s rich history and notable figures. The first honorees, legendary musical group Kool & the Gang, accepted the flagship marker at last year’s kickoff event.

The permanent marker for the band was also unveiled Thursday.
