Boardman safety forces save sleeping man from apartment fire
Boardman safety forces battled an apartment fire in a unit located in the 100 block of Washington Boulevard about 9 p.m. July 4.
One resident was escorted out of the bedroom area as officers and the apartment manager found him asleep in his bedroom as smoke emanated from the apartment.
Police officers after seeing the smoke come out of the unit and the door knob being hot to touch, had to breach the door to get into the residence and wake up the man, the report stated..
The source of the smoke was from a pot left on the stove. The man received medical care from Boardman paramedics.
