Youngstown’s “million-dollar playground,” Idora Park may have been closed for 40 years, but a local event promises to give residents a taste of its old glory with nostalgic t-shirts and memorabilia.

The Idora Park Experience partnered up with Past Times Arcade and Sweet Memories Vintage Tees & Candy to host an event where people can indulge in the amusement park’s memorabilia.

Sweet Memories will be releasing vintage limited-edition Idora Park t-shirts that will feature an authentic 1930s advertising print plate. Event goers will also be able to buy limited-edition tote bags and taste the original vintage Idora soda pop.

People who purchased from Sweet Memories can bring their receipt to the Past Times Arcade that same day for 20% off admission costs.

The Idora Park experience is a museum founded by Jim and Toni Amey who aimed to preserve artifacts from the historic amusement park and give community members a taste of the popular experience. They will both be present at Sweet Memories for a meet-and-greet and book signing.

The event will be held on July 21 at the Sweet Memories store at 1282 Trumbull Ave. A1, Girard, Ohio from noon to 3 p.m.
