Sherrod Brown endorses Kamala Harris as Dem nominee for U.S. President, won’t seek VP role
A spokesman for Ohio U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown’s re-election campaign said Sunday night by email that Brown is endorsing U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nominee for president opening that was created when U.S. President Joe Biden said earlier in the day he wouldn’t run for re-election.
Matt Keyes also confirmed that Brown won’t seek a vice presidential role in November.
Brown is in a heated battle for re-election in the U.S. Senate with Cleveland businessman Bernie Moreno.
Brown, who is one of Ohio’s Democratic delegates, called for Biden to leave the race in a statement on Friday and released a statement Sunday thanking him for his service.
