A Youngstown area non-profit is working with a furniture business to provide new beds for residents displaced from the May explosion at Realty Tower.

Rosa Baker Shaw, who serves as the Community Outreach Director for The Persayus Way Project, said her group is working with Ashley furniture in Boardman to provide an estimated 43 new beds for the 22 tenants who are out of their homes.

She said beds should be available Aug. 8 and the group is working to provide U-Haul delivery for those unable to pick them up.

“We are an outreach for the community,” she said. “This was a tragedy for the people involved.”

Shaw said the group is looking to partner with additional businesses to help the residents.

She can reached at 330-518-2192.
