About Warren City Hospital
Warren City Hospital was incorporated in March as the financial struggles of Trumbull Regional’s owner, Steward Health Care, began to escalate. Over the past several months, the group had been working quietly with several parties, including the Trumbull medical staff, the hospital landlord and a hospital operating specialist group, to save the Warren hospital. The group announced its plans publicly on Aug. 6 out of concern that Steward was planning to close the hospital. Steward announced such plans on Aug. 21.
In addition to Woods, who is president of Insurance Navigators in Warren, the Warren City Hospital officers include John A. Guarnieri, a retired Howland businessman, president; Dr. Lindsey Brodell Dolohanty, M.D., a dermatologist and owner of Brodell Medical in Warren, vice president; and Donald W. Emerson, executive director of the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority, treasurer. More information is available at the group’s website, warrencityhospital.org.
