Youngstown Mayor Jamael Tito Brown is welcoming the Protect Our Care bus tour as it rolls into town this week advocating for lower health care costs.

It’s Protect Our Care’s sixth nationwide bus tour advocating for the Inflation Reduction Act, which kicked off on Monday in Minnesota.

The Care Force One team is rolling into Youngstown for one of their 50 stops across the country.

Through the next six weeks, they’ll travel through California, Georgia, Ohio and 14 other U.S. states, covering almost 12,000 miles to meet with voters.

Mayor Brown and other Youngstown leaders are participating in the bus tour stop at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the Covelli Centre parking lot in downtown Youngstown.

Laura Packard is a cancer survivor and health care advocate participating in the bus tour.

The ”Lower Costs, Better Care” bus tour supports President Joe Biden’s passage of the Inflation Reduction Act to help lower health care costs for Americans.

They’ll be discussing how this decision would impact future healthcare in regards to the upcoming presidential election.
