After completing renovations at the Girard Pilot travel center, corporate leaders are celebrating by giving back to local drivers, students and community members.

Pilot Travel Centers donated $10,000 to Girard City Schools. The money will go toward buying a vinyl printer and cutter for the STEAM program for Girard’s kindergarten through sixth grade students.

They’re donating the money after completing a billion-dollar remodel at the Girard travel center, located at 2786 Salt Springs Road.

Inside the upgraded travel center, there are new self-checkout machines, remodeled restrooms, showers, laundry rooms, countertops and rest areas for out-of-town visitors.

“We invite drivers of all kinds – whether they drive professionally or just to explore new places – to experience our newly updated travel center in Girard,” said Allison Cornish, senior vice president of store modernization and development at Pilot. “We remain focused on creating exceptional experiences for our guests by ensuring every stop has what drivers need to refuel, refresh and hit the road. We can’t wait to see you out here.”

There’s a one-time 25% off discount for purchases on food and beverages at the Girard location now through Oct. 27 on items in store like the new fall flavors of coffee such as bourbon pecan hot coffee and cinnamon roll cold brew.

Download the Pilot Flying J myRewards Plus app and enter the promo code “PFJOct” - then present your myRewards card, barcode in the app, or phone number at checkout to get the discount.

Customers can also take ten cents off every gallon of gas through the myRewards Plus app.
