Fatal crash leaves Youngstown woman dead, juvenile in hospital, according to police
A Youngstown woman is dead and a juvenile has been hospitalized following a crash on Sunday, according to police.
Officials said at approximately 8:00 p.m., a Ford traveling southbound on Warner Road towards State Route 82 failed to yield.
The Ford, driven by Joshua Johnston, 36, of North Lima, continued southbound on Warner Road when it failed to yield to the right of way while entering the intersection of State Route 82, according to police.
The Ford was struck on the passenger side by a Subaru, driven by Katherine McMullin, 28, which was traveling eastbound on State Route 82.
The impact pushed the Ford off the road and into a ditch.
Officials said Miranda Zullo, 35, of Youngstown was a passenger in the Ford and pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile passenger was transported to the local hospital due to suffering life threatening injuries.
Johnston was transported to Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Youngstown with non-life threatening injuries. McMullin suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash, accoring to police.
Brookfield Township Police Department, Vienna Township Fire Department, Brookfield Township Fire Department, Liberty Township Fire Department, C & C Towing, and Pantalone Towing were all assisting at the scene.
Officials said the crash remains under investigation on Monday.
