The Mahoning Valley community is gathering all month long for holiday sing-a-longs, pictures with Santa and tree lighting ceremonies.

Here’s Mahoning Matters’ top picks for holiday events starting Dec. 3 through Dec. 14 in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

Mahoning County

  • Holiday music at local libraries: The Austintown Library will host an evening of all-ages holiday music with Tyler Guerrieri on Dec. 3 from 6 - 7 p.m. at 600 S. Raccoon Road in Austintown. The Boardman Library will welcome Guerrieri for a night of holiday music from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 at 7680 Glenwood Ave. in Boardman. Then the Canfield Library will host Guerrieri from 6 - 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 16 at 43 W. Main St. in Canfield. The events are open to all ages with no registration required. Light refreshments will be provided.

  • Holiday Flea on Phelps: Head over to Phelps Street in Youngstown to support over 65+ vendors participating in December’s pop-up Youngstown Flea from 4 - 8 p.m. Dec. 6.

  • Youngstown Light-Up Night: The city of Youngstown is hosting the annual Light-Up Night and holiday parade from 4 - 10 p.m. on Dec. 6 surrounding the central square downtown. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. with the tree lighting on the square immediately following. Santa will be available for free pictures at the DeYor, while OH Wow! Museum will be open and free to the public until 6 p.m. Vendors at the Youngstown Flea will be set up on Phelps Street until 8 p.m. Commemorative mugs will be on sale for drink specials all over the downtown.

  • Christmas Market At The Mansion: Vendors are setting up inside the Woodland Estate, located at 3128 Logan Way in Youngstown, from 5 - 9 p.m. on Dec. 6 and from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8. Check out the carriage rides, wine bar, live music and food options, all set up around the historic mansion in Youngstown.

  • Ward Beecher Planetarium: Visit the Ward Beecher Planetarium at Youngstown State University at 84 Lincoln Ave. in Youngstown to see free and open-to-the public holiday shows. The holiday music show “Let It Snow” will transport viewers to a magical wonderland of the season. Shows start at 8 p.m. Dec. 6 through Dec. 21, with a few shows at 2 p.m. There are two more 2 p.m. shows at the Ward Beecher Planetarium on Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 called “Alien Who Stole Christmas.” The shows are free and open to the public at 84 Lincoln Ave. in Youngstown.

Trumbull County

  • A Modern Methods Christmas: Visit the holiday pop-up experience at the Darlene Lounge from 5 - 10 p.m. starting Dec. 5 for festive cocktails and dinner at 145 W Market St. in Warren.

  • Hubbard Christmas parade: The city of Hubbard will hold its annual Christmas Parade featuring Santa and Mrs. Claus coming to town at 5 p.m. on Dec. 7. The parade will travel from Hubbard schools, down Hall Avenue, east onto West Liberty Street and then north on Stewart Avenue. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at Tylee Park next to the fire station to visit with children.

Columbiana County

  • Cookies with Mrs. Claus: Visit White House Fruit Farm at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 to make cookies and reindeer food with Mrs. Claus as she gets ready for the holiday season. Guests can write letters to Santa, personalize their own unique cookies and join in the holiday spirit with a sing-along.

  • Salem Light-Up Night: The city of Salem’s Christmas Parade and Light Up Night is set from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. The parade performers will step off at 6:30 p.m. in the downtown area.

  • Goodies with The Grinch: Visit White House Fruit Farm at 6 p.m. Dec. 11 to hang out with The Grinch. Enjoy a specialty hot chocolate and some of the Grinch’s favorite snacks. Decorate an ice cream cone Christmas tree and test your knowledge of The Grinch.
