Mahoning Valley artists looking for industry tips and tricks on how to share their art with the community can check out LOOP Youngstown Arts and Culture Center’s newly-announced classes.

“Art is Work” is five free classes organized by LOOP and funded by both the Ohio Arts Council and the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.

Working artists are encouraged to sign up for insight into how art exhibitions are brought together, selling their art online using a website and writing grants for funding.

The workshops are starting in January through April at different locations, including ART on Park, The TAG Gallery in Warren, the McDonough Museum, the Butler Museum and Oak Hill Collaborative in Youngstown.

“The arts are a big part of making the Youngstown area a gem of a place to live,” said LOOP board chair Karen Schubert. “We are so thankful to program partners and funders for the opportunity to help connect artists with resources as we kick off our Art is Work series.”

The series will include five workshops:

All the workshops are free, but preregistration is required online.

LOOP Youngstown is a nonprofit dedicated to incubating arts and artists actively working to purchase a building to house artist studios and workshops, as well as rehearsal and performance space, galleries and office space for nonprofits and businesses.
