Samantha Turner, 3rd Ward City Councilwoman, announces run for Youngstown mayor

Samantha Turner, the current 3rd Ward City Councilwoman, officially submitted the required petitions on Wednesday to the Mahoning County Board of Elections, securing a spot on the ballot for the May 6, 2025, Democratic Primary.

“I’m proud to take this important step in my campaign for mayor. My team and I have worked to gather signatures from voters across Youngstown, and I’m grateful for the overwhelming support,” she said. “Now, we move forward with a mission to bring change to Youngstown and the entire valley.”

Turner said over the coming weeks she will continue meeting with voters, listening to their concerns, and sharing a vision for a stronger, more inclusive City of Youngstown.

“I am excited to share part of my vision for Youngstown’s future and how we can work together to build a stronger, more vibrant community,” Turner said.
