According to Ohio Realtors, there’s been a slight increase in the number of residents looking to move into their own home.
Ohio was also listed as one of the top best states with opportunities for first-time homebuyers, according to a study by Real Estate CRM REsimpli.

Mahoning County’s most, least expensive homes per city
In Mahoning County, there are over 840 homes for sale, with the average home sold for around $160,00 in 2025.
Youngstown has the greatest number of affordable homes on the market with a median listing price of $119,900.
Similarly, there are 21 homes on the market in Campbell with a median listing price of $129,900 and 46 homes in Struthers at a median of $150,000.
In Boardman, the average price for a listed home is at $209,800 and increases to over $300,000 in both Canfield and Poland.
The most expensive Mahoning County city to buy your next home will be North Lima, with most homes being sold for around $430,000.
How does Mahoning County compare to the rest of the state?
While more people are interested in buying a home, Ohio Realtors president Michelle Billings said most home sale prices across the state are increasing.
“Ohio’s housing market is showing strong momentum to start the year with increased sales and rising home values reflecting continued confidence in our state’s real estate sector,” Billings said.
The average price for a home in Ohio for 2025 is $274,522 which increased 7.6% from last year.
“The 0.8% uptick in sales and a 7.6% rise in average prices demonstrate a resilient market that remains attractive to buyers and sellers alike,” Billings said.
