Mayor Jamael Tito Brown will deliver his 2025 State of the City address to constituents in Youngstown on April 9.

The mayor’s address will focus on the city’s continued efforts and progress on American Rescue Plan projects and economic investments.

He’ll also provide updates on park improvements, housing, crime reduction and public health initiatives.

The mayor’s state of the city is open to the public from 5 - 7 p.m. at the DeYor Performing Arts Center at 260 W Federal St. in Youngstown.

The mayor’s State of the City is open to the public from 5 - 7 p.m. at the DeYor Performing Arts Center at 260 W Federal St. in Youngstown.

Mayor Brown will be hosting a special VIP event with business owners and invited community leaders after the speech in DeYor’s Ford Recital Hall.

The city of Youngstown is also getting ready for the first National Community Development Day, planned by the Department of Community Planning and Economic Development’s Community Development Division.

Community development day in Youngstown is April 24 at several downtown locations, including the Covelli Centre, Wean Foundation Park and the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre.

There will be live music, games, bounce houses, food trucks and information tables at community development day from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

The event is free and open to businesses, non-profits, service providers and community organizations looking to engage with the public.

Participants must bring their own tables.

The event was organized by the city to celebrate the Community Development Block Grants and HOME programs.
