Mercy Health in Youngstown is introducing a free coaching program designed to help individuals prioritize their health and well-being through personalized one-on-one sessions.

Participants in Mercy Health’s wellness program Stepping Out will get expert guidance on fitness, nutrition, stress management, sleep improvement and more.

Supervisor Doris Bullock said the expanded program is all about helping individuals achieve optimal health through wellness coaching, as well as fitness programs and health screenings.

“This is an incredible opportunity for individuals to take control of their health with expert guidance and support,” she said. “Our coaches are dedicated to empowering people with the tools and confidence to make lasting lifestyle changes.”

According to Bullock, the coaches will work closely with individuals to develop personalized wellness plans to improve health, boost vitality and prevent disease.

Coaches will help participants explore individual opportunities in the areas of weight loss and fitness, while also encouraging “self-empathy, self-motivation, self-awareness, mindfulness, confidence, optimism and resilience.”

Stepping Out also hosts weekly group workout and exercise classes at no cost to participants, like kickboxing, Pilates, Zumba, chair aerobics and volleyball, line dance and yoga.

The program also provides free health screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, BMI, body fat analysis, fitness assessments, diabetes risk assessments, carbon monoxide screenings and balance evaluations.
