Grassroots community-led organization to host peaceful rally and protest on Sunday

The Mahoning Valley Freedom Fighters (MVFF), a grassroots community-led organization, will host Defend Our Neighbors, a peaceful rally and protest on Sunday, April 27, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department in Youngstown, OH.

Organization officials said the event is a direct response to recent injustices impacting local immigrant communities, including the revocation of visas for 15 international students at Youngstown State University and the ongoing threats of family separation and deportation.

Officials said the MVFF stands firmly against these attacks on its neighbors rights and dignity. And that it is gathering “to demand everyone receive their due process guaranteed under the United States Constitution.”

“Our neighbors are being targeted. Our communities are being threatened. We will not stand by while injustice reigns, families are torn apart, and voices are silenced,” said organization officials. “This is about standing up for the constitutional rights of everyone in the Mahoning Valley.”
