New sporting goods and outdoor store bringing estimated 60 new jobs to Boardman
Boardman shoppers will soon have the opportunity to browse a 55,000-square-foot retail store stocked with full lines of sporting goods, apparel and outdoor equipment.
Visit the new Academy Sports + Outdoors opening on Aug. 11 at 1280 Doral Drive in Boardman, with grand opening specials happening the following weekend from Aug. 15 - Aug. 17.
The Academy Sports + Outdoors store coming to Mahoning County will be the newest go-to destination for activewear apparel, athletic shoes, supplies for hunting, fishing, outdoor cooking and camping, as well as team sports equipment.
This new location is expected to bring as many as 60 jobs to the Boardman community.

Customers are invited to sign-up for Academy’s rewards program, myAcademy, which includes a 10% welcome offer, access to personalized offers, deals and products and an annual birthday reward.
Academy was originally started in 1938 as a family business in Texas, with current corporate headquarters near Houston.
There are over 300 Academy stores across 21 states, including two more locations in Ohio including Springfield and Zanesville.
