Here’s when fall foliage in Ohio will peak in 2025 and the best places to see all the colors

Fall is quickly approaching and while we’re excited for football, flannels and warm soups, we also can’t wait to see the leaves change to beautiful orange, red and yellow.

So, when will they begin to change in Ohio? Here’s what to know about when fall foliage will peak:

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac: “Leaves can change their color from as early as mid-September all the way through early November.”

Specifically, a study by Axios and the SmokyMountains.com, the most vibrant fall foliage colors will occur in mid-October in Ohio.

So, how long will the leaves stay colorful?

“Peak foliage usually lasts 7 to 10 days in a given location, but the exact window can shift due to temperature, rainfall, and wind,” said Old Farmer’s Almanac experts.

Ohio Amish Country located in Berlin, Ohio is one of the most popular fall foliage destinations in the state.

“The maples, oaks, and hickories in the area provide a particularly vibrant show, with deep reds, bright oranges and warm yellows lighting up the landscape,” as stated on the Ohio Amish Country website.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac also suggested Brandywine Falls and the Scenic Railroad in Ohio for seeing the season’s colors.
