#1 Cochran relocating Columbiana Cadillac, Chevrolet dealerships in Boardman
One of the region’s leading automotive retailers announced a regional redevelopment plan to modernize and reimagine automotive retail in the Mahoning Valley.
Columbiana Cadillac is relocating to Boardman, which has been owned by #1 Cochran since 2023.
The Cadillac dealership will move to the company’s Buick-GMC campus at 7997 Market St. in Boardman.
Cadillac will temporarily set up inside the Buick-GMC showroom while construction begins on an exclusive, standalone dealership on the same property.
In April, the city of Columbiana purchased the property at 21 E Railroad St. and has announced plans to convert it into a new city hall and municipal center.
Simultaneously, #1 Cochran is shifting Columbiana Chevrolet’s operations over to join the Boardman Chevrolet dealership, located at 8010 Market St., according to chairman and CEO of the company Rob Cochran.
“This realignment allows us to focus our resources where we can have the greatest impact for our customers,” Cochran said. “By bringing our operations closer together, we’re creating a more seamless, convenient experience – making it easier than ever for customers to shop, service and keep life moving.”
Changes will go into effect during the first week of October.
The Cadillac facility is expected to open in about 18 - 24 months.
“For us, this business has never been about just selling cars,” Cochran said. “It’s about being part of something meaningful, and we’re proud to keep building that here.”
Once the relocations are complete and construction wraps up, #1 Cochran’s four General Motor brand dealerships will be located within steps of each other on Market Street.
Looking ahead, Cochran said they plan to continue investing in the local community and giving back through educational initiatives, as well as promoting the new loyalty program recently launched to reward repeat business.
