Carrie Biery is on a mission to provide sensory support bags to families of children with autism and sensory needs in and around the Trumbull County area through Logan’s Landing Project.

These sensory kits include fidgets, communication guides and supportive tools to help regulate overwhelming feelings.

Biery’s nonprofit is inspired by her son Logan who is autistic and nonverbal.

She’s the general manager of the Residence Inn by Marriott in Niles and has already partnered with 10 hotels in Ohio ready to continue Logan’s Landing mission to not only have more sensory bags and inclusive spaces, but also educate and spread awareness about autism.

“Families like mine face daily challenges—whether it’s traveling, visiting a park, or simply going to the store,” Biery said. “Logan’s Landing is about breaking down barriers so every child has the chance to belong, to play and to thrive.”

On Oct. 12, support Biery at the first Fueling for Inclusion Jeep and car show fundraiser for Logan’s Landing Project from noon - 4 p.m. at Howland High School and Orwig Park.

All vehicles are welcome; owners of classic and modern cars, trucks, motorcycles and Jeeps can enter their rides for a chance to win prizes.

The Fueling for Inclusion fundraiser registration starts at 11 a.m., which is $10 per car, and there’s a lil’ cruisers parade for kids at 2 p.m. to show off their favorite power wheels, bicycles and motorized jeeps.

All proceeds from the fundraiser go to Logan’s Landing Project.

With community support, Biery is expanding the nonprofit to include travel resources for families of children with autism and sensory needs, as well as local inclusive play initiatives like adding inclusive equipment to Tiger Town in Howland.

This event is sponsored by Cafaro Foundation, Once Upon a Child in Niles, Greenwood Chevrolet, Sims Auto Park and Aaris Therapy.

The awards ceremony begins at 3 p.m., and several vendors will be participating in the fundraiser, including T’s Concessions, Nothing Bundt Cakes in Niles and Gravely Delicious. Special guests include the Howland first responders and Bluey, thanks to Heroes & Tiaras.
