In 2025, the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation has built several new homes, repaired properties and broken ground on future sites of duplexes and single family homes across the city.

In addition to building homes and renovating existing properties, YNDC also equipped hundreds of homeowners with doorbell cameras and peace of mind.

Through their community safety program, YNDC has installed nearly 400 doorbell cameras throughout Youngstown’s second ward.

Team members canvassed target areas and installed doorbell cameras at participating households.

They also install new LED lighting at businesses along corridors in hotspot areas.

The program was created based on resident feedback to reduce crime, increase safety and develop positive relationships with the Youngstown Police Department.

YNDC’s Community Safety program coordinates trust with residents, neighborhood groups and police officers while preventing crime.

Through the program, YNDC also coordinates meetings with residents and police to increase positive interaction with YPD.
