Youngstown superintendent honored by education magazine for leadership
Each year, Education Insider recognizes leaders in schools across the nation for “redefining excellence in education.”
This year, the superintendent of Youngstown City Schools was selected by the magazine as one of the top ten most inspiring leaders in his field.
Jeremy Batchelor has been superintendent since 2023, focused on fostering academic improvement, enhancing communication, and cultivating relationships with scholars and staff.
He grew up in Youngstown, attended John Carroll University as well as Youngstown State University.
Batchelor is the host of The Belly Left Leadership Podcast, which is the district’s first podcast and produced by broadcasting students at Choffin Career and Technical Center.
Batchelor and the scholars who produce the podcast also received recognition from the National School Public Relations Association.
