Beginning in February, patrons stopping by the main branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will be able to access fresh, local produce and locally made products year round.

In December, Thrive Mahoning Valley announced the launch of The Downtown Youngstown Farmers Market coming in 2026.

The market will premiere on Feb. 12 starting at 4 p.m. at 305 Wick Ave. in Youngstown.

The market will be open until 7:30 p.m., hosted indoors during the winter months and outside in the parking lot during warmer months.

Vicki Vicars is the lead organizer behind the Downtown Youngstown Farmers Market.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Healthy Community Partnership and the PLMCY Main Library to bring this expanded offering to downtown,” she said. “Our community deserves year-round opportunities to purchase fresh foods, and this indoor market will help bridge the gap during the colder months while supporting the farmers and small businesses who make our region unique.”

During the market, find produce grown by local farmers, support artisans and learn about nutrition during food demonstrations.

“Having the Youngstown State University campus directly across the street offers us a wonderful opportunity to provide for students as well,” Vicars said. “We are particularly excited to cater to the international students.”

The market is free and will be open on the second and fourth Thursday each month.

Organizers encourage residents to stop by, meet local farmers and enjoy a space designed to nourish both the community and the local economy.
