Edward Stredney has announced his candidacy for Trumbull County Auditor
Edward Stredney, on Thursday, announced his official intent to run for Trumbull County Auditor, vowing to restore the county auditor’s office integrity.
Stredney, a project manager who holds a degree in Business Administration and Accounting, has held city government office and has extensive experience working with government budgets.
“I’m running because I believe our auditor’s role is to ensure fiscal integrity, accountability, and compliance for all county funds,“ said Stredney. “I will ensure the Trumbull County Auditor’s Office operates with transparency, fraud prevention and quality compliance. It shouldn’t be a place where townships are scammed out of money, where developers are taxed out of new construction, where homeowners are taxed out of their homes and where the auditor’s office is constantly at odds with all other county offices.”
Stredney said the County’s Chief Fiscal Officer must provide taxpayers, consumers, school districts and local governments with a variety of trusted services, and it cannot be neglected any longer.
He said his main priorities will be to bring trust and qualified stewardship back to the Auditor’s office, ensure transparency, legal compliance, and the proper management of taxpayer funds.
“I understand that the Auditor is just one part of the county system, working with other departments and agencies and I will be a trusted and committed watchdog over all county funds,” he said.
Stredney said he invites Trumbull County residents to share his vision for a stronger, more prosperous county.
