Ramadan is the most sacred month for Muslims around the world, a time for fasting, prayer, reflection, community and charity.

In 2026, Ramadan starts Feb. 18 and ends March 19.

In honor of Ramadan, the Islamic Society of Greater Youngstown is starting a new tradition for residents in Mahoning and Trumbull counties: a market organized by members of the Islamic community featuring local businesses that’s open to everyone.

Admission is free for the first ISGY Welcome Ramadan Bazaar from noon until 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 at the Metroplex Expo Center in Girard featuring family-friendly activities.

Fifty vendors will be participating in the event, like clothing brands Romeo Pret and Modern Abaya and nourishing, all natural products curated by Orchid Skin Care.

Bring home some new Islamic décor, jewelry and accessories, plus enjoy handmade treats by bakers like Cakes and Sweets by Ash.
