Annual family-friendly Black Excellence Expo returns in Youngstown
Vendors and business owners from around northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania are coming together for a day of inspiration, networking and celebration of Black business.
Organized by Keyonia Owens of Ke-Ke’s Kreations, the fifth annual Black Excellence Expo returns at 1 p.m. on Feb. 22 at The Eugenia Atkinson Recreation Center in Youngstown.
Forty vendors have signed up to participate in the Black Excellence Expo, including but not limited to:

- Pink Zebra
- Delightful Desserts
- Renewing Hope LLC
- Herbal Skinsation
- Taylor’s Jamaican Kitchen
- Agape Presents
- Candy Kisses Treats
- Ke-Ke’s Kreations
- J&K Sweet Treats and More
There’s a $5 entry fee for adults and kids get in for free at the event which continues until 5 p.m. at the recreation center at 903 Otis St. in Youngstown.
Over the past five years, this event has continued to grow and make a meaningful impact by highlighting achievement, resilience and excellence within the Black community, according to Owens.
Everyone is welcome to shop with small businesses and see live performers and speakers at The Eugenia Atkinson Recreation Center, like DJ Tracy Wilks, Hustle & Glow, The South Side Stinging Steppers and Empowered Arts Dance.
