Forbes just released their list of the Best Large Employers for 2026 and here’s what to know about employers in Ohio:
Here’s how Forbes ranked employers
According to Forbes, the seventh annual list contains research data from Statista, which surveyed more than 217,000 employees who work for a company of at least 1,000 people within the United States. Companies with over 5,000 employers are deemed large and are on this current list.
Surveys had a variety of questions, mostly pertaining to salary, work environment, training programs and opportunities to advance. However, the surveys also included questions about if the employee would recommend the company to others as well as opportunities for employees to rate the employer on certain criteria or scenarios.
Then each company was given a score based on the results of the survey and finally, ranked with other companies that received high scores.
So, which employers are the best in Ohio? Here’s what to know:
Which large employer is the best in Ohio?
Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio made the list at 35th overall and is the best large employer in the state. The company was founded in 1892 and employees about 15,000 people.
