Final paving and pavement marking work will commence on Walnut and Boardman Streets on Monday, April 20.

A total road closure and parking ban will be enforced within the work area of:

  • Walnut Street: From Commerce Street to Front Street
  • Boardman Street: From Market Street to Walnut Street

A parking ban will be enforced at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, prior to the start of paving operations. During this period, all vehicles must be removed to ensure the safety of the paving and striping crews. Any vehicles found parked within the work area will be subject to towing.

The sections of Boardman and Walnut Streets in the work area will be closed from Monday, April 20 to Thursday, Apri 23. The exact re-opening time will depend on the duration of the final striping work. While the roadway will be closed within the work area, through traffic at all intersections will remain open. The public should anticipate heavy construction traffic on April 20th during the paving operations.

Note that during this time:

  • Mocha House parking will be available along Champion Street.
  • Access to the Post Office will be maintained.
  • SMARTS student drop-off will resume on Tuesday.

Following the paving work, motorists and residents are asked to strictly adhere to the parking restrictions to facilitate the efficient and timely application of pavement markings.
