Here’s what the average tax refund is in Ohio. These counties get the most back

Tax refunds have been running bigger in recent years and Ohio tax-filers are part of the up-trend, although where you live in the state can make a big difference in your received return.

According to IRS data analyzed by Upgraded Points, Ohio’s average refund is right in line with national trends, which hover around $3,600 with about 75% receiving refunds.

The average refund for Ohio filers in tax year 2022 was $3,308.

Most households pocket between $2,400 and $3,000 on average but county-level differences show how local incomes and filing patterns could affect that.
