The Austintown Fitch Falcons are building quite a resume for the upcoming Division I postseason tournament draw and remain the top-ranked team in this week’s mahoningmatters.com Super 7 high school softball poll.

Here’s a look at the latest rankings:

No. 1 AUSTINTOWN FITCH

The Fitch Falcons easily remain the No. 1 team in the poll after an impressive week on the diamond.

The Falcons upped their unbeaten record to 12-0 with a pair of one-sided All-American Conference wins over the Howland Tigers by scores of 14-2 and 13-2 last week.

Fitch has outscored its opponents by a staggering 135-25 total this spring.

The Falcons have two huge AAC games this week against the Canfield Cardinals.

No. 2 LAKEVIEW

Lakeview, which reached the state tourney last spring and is off to another impressive start, remains the No. 2-ranked team in the poll.

The Bulldogs, who lead the Northeast 8 standings at 6-0, are off to a 12-3 overall start while playing a strong independent schedule.

Lakeview defeated Girard (14-0), Poland (12-2) and Hubbard (8-2) in Northeast 8 action last week.

The Bulldogs will play Niles McKinley and West Branch this week.

No. 3 BOARDMAN

The Boardman Spartans are once again the No. 3-ranked team in the ratings.

The Spartans are 9-3 on the campaign and defeated Louisville (3-2) and split with Canfield, winning one game 7-1 and falling 7-5 in the remaining contest last week.

Boardman has outscored its opponents, 81-35.

The Spartans have a big week ahead as they will play North Canton Hoover, Painesville Riverside and Akron Hoban.

No. 4 YOUNGSTOWN CARDINAL MOONEY

The Youngstown Cardinal Mooney Cardinals vault into the poll at No. 4 this week.

The Cardinals have posted a 7-1 ledger and have won three games in a row with triumphs over Canton Central Catholic (8-3), arch-rival Youngstown Ursuline (2-1) and the Pymatuning Valley Lakers (16-5).

The Cardinals will play four teams this week in Warren JFK, Maplewood, Southeast and Youngstown East.

No. 5 YOUNGSTOWN URSULINE

Youngstown Ursuline fell from No. 4 to No. 5 in this week’s rankings after splitting its last two games.

The Irish, who are 8-3, dropped a 2-1 decision to Youngstown Cardinal Mooney but rebounded with a 12-4 romp over the Lake County Perry Pirates.

The Irish will go up against the Jackson-Milton Bluejays, Brunswick Blue Devils and Hoban Knights this week.

No. 6 CANFIELD

Canfield, which is Division III and plays a demanding schedule, is the No. 6-rated team in the poll this week.

The Cardinals are 6-4 and won their last two games with triumphs over Boardman (7-5) and the South Range Raiders (9-5).

The Cards will face the Fitch Falcons twice this week and also play Poland and Warren Champion.

No. 7 MAPLEWOOD

The Maplewood Rockets are No. 7 in the rankings this week.

The Rockets have rolled to an 8-1 record and have won eight games in a row.

Maplewood defeated Garrettsville Garfield (13-1), Ashtabula St. John (6-1) and the Geneva Eagles (4-0) last week.

The Rockets will play Windham, Cardinal Mooney, Badger, United and Columbia Station this week.
