Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. breaks ground on 8 new homes
Eight new houses are ready to be added to Struthers after the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation’s successful groundbreaking ceremony.
Project partners met this week at 363 Sexton St. in the city of Struthers to break ground on the construction site for the single-family residences.
According to YNDC, the homes will be listed for sale once they’re completed.
Each of the houses will have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open-concept living area and a kitchen/dining space, as well as a first-floor laundry room, front porch and two-car detached garage.
The builder for the project is Joe Koch Construction.
Down payment assistance will also be available for eligible homebuyers through a partnership with Huntington Bank.
The project is made possible through a grant award to the City of Struthers from the Ohio Department of Development’s Welcome Home Ohio program.
The vacant lots were acquired from the Struthers Land Bank, and the Mahoning County Land Bank also provided land for the project.
Additional project partners include the city of Struthers and the Eden Haven Housing Development Group.
