Here’s when Youngstown Skatepark Association’s free pop-up event series starts
The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley awarded the Youngstown Skatepark Association with a $7,500 grant to support the organization’s general operations and upcoming pop-up event series.
This grant is helping YSA bring free, temporary skateparks to neighborhoods across Youngstown, starting on April 25 at the Richard W. and Eugenia C. Atkinson Recreation Center.
From 3 - 5 p.m., the YSA team is transforming a portion of the park into a pop-up skatepark for skateboards, BMX bikes, scooters, in-line skates and roller skates.
This series aims to provide a safe, inclusive environment for riders of all skill levels while building momentum for YSA’s mission to advocate for a permanent, free public skatepark in the city of Youngstown.
All participants must follow YSA’s established rules and guidelines. A signed participant waiver is required for anyone entering the skatepark area, and no individual will be permitted to ride without one on file.
Children under the age of three are not permitted to participate.
Participants under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Helmets are required for riders under 18 and strongly recommended for adults. Children under 14 must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian.
The $7,500 grant was made possible by contributions from The Arnett Family Fund and Rick Shale Fund, both component funds of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.
