Boardman HS tennis standout commits to continue academic and athletic career
Boardman High School recently announced that senior tennis standout Payton Konnerth has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Adrian College, where she will major in Early Childhood Education while competing for the Bulldogs tennis program.
A dedicated student-athlete, school officials said Konnerth has been a key contributor to the Boardman tennis program, showing consistent growth and competitiveness throughout her career.
During her junior season, she competed at second singles and first doubles, advancing deep into sectional play and finishing with an impressive 13–4 record, earning Second Team All-AAC honors.
As a senior, Konnerth elevated her game even further, competing at both second and first singles, reaching the second day of sectionals, and finishing with a standout 16–4 record, earning First Team All-AAC recognition.
Beyond athletics, Konnerth has been deeply involved in the Boardman High School community. She has served as captain of the girls lacrosse team and holds numerous leadership roles, including President of Student Council, Secretary of Student Government, and Historian of the National Honor Society. She is also actively involved in Yearbook (Editor), Emerging Leaders, Key Club, Art National Honor Society, Art Club, Link Crew, Big Spartan Little Spartan, Student Teaching, and Spirit Crew.
In addition, Konnerth has contributed to Boardman Athletics as a social media intern, helping highlight and promote Spartan student-athletes.
Boardman High School said it congratulates Konnerth on her commitment to Adrian College and looks forward to watching her continue to succeed both in the classroom and on the court.
